Almost 3 years have gone by since we left the hustle and bustle of city living and moved out to The Lakes of Muirfield.

The yelping of coyotes in the distance and the honking of geese have replaced the sound of loud motorcycles and screeching tires.

Like all my neighbours, we back on to green space, and in this case, it is a par 5 on the golf course. Yellow canola flowers carpet the surrounding fields during the summer. The sunsets are beautiful as they fill the open sky and no two sunsets are ever the same. We can see the mountains that seem so close and the city lights that are even closer. We are in a community where everyone knows and respects each other and at night when the gates close and serenity takes over the community, it’s hard to believe that we are minutes away from 1.1 million people.
